Description

VIDHI is an open-world body-swap visual novel set in modern India, where three young people find an extraordinary way around the futures imposed on them. Arjun is a computer science student whose girlfriend, Meera, has been confined to a girls’ hostel by her military father—with no phone, no visitors, and no way out. Meanwhile, gifted coder Kavya is trapped in medical school at the insistence of her surgeon father. Her secret lifeline is a professional GitHub profile maintained under a false name, using a ₹3,000 phone she keeps hidden beneath her mattress. When Meera uncovers a 14th-century Sanskrit body-swapping ritual in a library basement, she puts together a deal that offers them all something they desperately want. Arjun takes over Kavya’s body, allowing him to enter the hostel and reunite with Meera. Kavya, now in Arjun’s body, rides his motorcycle to the computer science campus she has dreamed of attending for three years. What begins as a practical arrangement soon becomes an intimate education in living as someone else. For Arjun, that means navigating bras, sitting down to pee, and tears that come without warning. For Kavya, it means discovering the freedom to take up space, finally coding on a real keyboard, and coping with unwanted erections in the middle of lectures. Each swap brings greater understanding, but every passing day makes their secret harder to protect. Between suspicious roommates, vigilant wardens, and a Sunday visit from Meera’s military father, their borrowed lives grow increasingly precarious—and increasingly compelling. Someone else’s body, they discover, may be less like a costume than a country they no longer want to leave.
