Description

In ancient Eastern legends, fairies embodied purity, beauty, and kindness. In the 21st century, however, the word carries a very different meaning. THE WITCH TRIALS Episode I: THE ABYSS GAZER draws on that contrast to introduce an urban revenge drama set in Taipei City, where the promise of happiness gives way to betrayal. Li Haonan is an ordinary man who believes he has finally found happiness after meeting Liu Ruyan at a matchmaking event. Then, one day, the blue flame of a lighter exposes a rotten truth, shattering what he thought he knew. A story-driven visual novel about love, betrayal, and revenge, THE ABYSS GAZER centers its drama on the gulf between appearances and reality. This first episode of THE WITCH TRIALS follows Li Haonan’s story as a seemingly hopeful encounter takes a darker turn.
