In The Promise, you step into the life of a forty-year-old man who has made plenty of promises to his family—and now must work to fulfill them. Hard work and difficult decisions shape your future, but their consequences reach the people around you, too. Whether you honor your commitments or give in to temptation, your actions determine how relationships develop and which opportunities remain open. Built with Ren’Py, the game features 3D renders and animations created in DAZ Studio 3D. Its structure includes an individual main story, The Promise, alongside a broader main storyline that you can choose not to follow. Numerous side stories and smaller events unfold according to your decisions, with some choices closing off routes or leading to different outcomes. Gameplay combines grinding with situations governed by timing and player choice. Both hidden and visible stats influence progression. Hidden values trigger certain situations, while displayed stats track elements such as your wife’s corruption. Raising corruption and strengthening relationships with your family are necessary to unlock certain events and further content. Different endings are planned for each character, making your decisions important not just in the moment, but across the course of their stories. Your marriage can take very different directions: pursue an affair, cheat, or remain devoted to a loving life with your wife. You can also encourage her to become more open to other possibilities, though the results may not stay within your control.
