Description

In The Caretaker, the year is 4052, and humanity has evolved far beyond its former limits. Two thousand years after a catastrophe known as “the big explosion,” people can shift their consciousness between human and cybernetic bodies using advanced mental abilities. Countless scientific breakthroughs have transformed what is possible—including travel through time. Under the guidance of their commander, a team of three special soldiers is assigned a mission to change history. Their destination is one year before the great explosion, giving them a chance to prevent the disaster and save billions of lives. For these soldiers, the past is not simply a record of what happened, but an opportunity to alter the world’s fate. Choosing the bodies they will use to carry out their objective, the team must put humanity’s extraordinary advances toward averting its defining catastrophe. The Caretaker brings together consciousness transfer, cybernetic bodies, and time travel in a science-fiction premise centered on a mission to rewrite destiny.
