Description

Shadows of Absence plunges you into the life of Helena, a woman fighting to hold everything together while her husband is away for six months. The bills are due on the tenth, the kitchen sink has been dripping since March, and a light has just flicked on in the old house at the end of the street. In a small town where everyone knows everyone else’s business, somebody always knows a little more than they should—and Helena has plenty she’d rather keep hidden.

This choice-driven 3DCG narrative from developer Punkif centers on one burning question: how far will Helena go to keep her life from falling apart, and what is she willing to conceal to do it? Set in a tight-knit community where secrets have a way of surfacing, the story leans into adult themes of temptation and infidelity, with animated scenes, a female protagonist at the heart of every decision, and a cast of characters who push her boundaries in ways she never expected.

Version 0.5 is available for Windows, Linux, and Android, with English and Portuguese language support. The game is uncensored, and Punkif publishes regular updates via Patreon. An unofficial walkthrough mod and an Italian translation are also floating around for players who want extra guidance, though those fan-made extras come with the usual download-at-your-own-risk caveat.

If you enjoy slow-burn storytelling, moral dilemmas, and explicit animated content wrapped in a small-town mystery, Shadows of Absence delivers all three. Download version 0.5 today and see how far Helena will go before the secrets start spilling out.
