Description

In Pater Familias, your 50th birthday looks like a fresh start worth celebrating. Your wife and friends gather around as you blow out the candles, and everyone has pitched in to surprise you with an incredible new car. After the many “mistakes” of your younger years, this happy life feels like more than you deserve. Then a horrific crash turns the celebration into a nightmare. You wake in a hospital bed to discover that your wife is dead—and the police believe the wreck was no accident. Someone wanted you gone. To uncover who targeted you and why, you must look closely at the people you trust most. The deeper your investigation reaches into their lives, the harder it becomes to ignore an unsettling possibility: everyone close to you seems to have a reason to want you dead. But those hiding their motives have overlooked a side of you that has been restrained for years. As you search for answers, long-suppressed sexual appetites come roaring back, with your attention turning toward their wives and girlfriends. In Pater Familias, a shattered birthday celebration sets the stage for a story of suspicion, buried mistakes, and desires you no longer intend to keep under control.
