Description

A new city, university life, and the chance for a fresh start—Nothing Weird Happens Here begins with a move that seems perfectly ordinary. You’re staying with your mom’s close friend, a kind, slightly worn-out woman whose patience never seems to run dry as she does her best to hold everything together. Her two daughters bring very different personalities to the household: one is sharp and provocative, while the other is quiet and much harder to read. Soon, everyday routines begin to take shape. There are university classes to attend, a part-time job to look for, and awkward conversations to navigate in the kitchen. Between unfamiliar faces and flirtations that drift a little further than they probably should, settling into your new life is anything but effortless. Still, it all feels like the sort of adjustment you’d expect when starting over somewhere new. Then there are the little things you can’t quite explain: a glance that lasts too long, an unusual pause in conversation, the nagging impression that some corner of the city follows rules you don’t understand. Nobody else seems to notice, and perhaps you’re simply reading too much into it. After all, the city is normal. Completely normal. Nothing weird happens here.
