Description

New Genesis takes place in a near-future world transformed by a mysterious mutation that affects only women, granting a rare few extraordinary supernatural abilities. Known as Espers, these women are born at a rate of just one in every 20,000, yet their powers inspire widespread fear. In response, men develop technology called “replacements,” exchanging limbs, eyes, and other body parts for superior mechanical alternatives. Armed with these enhancements, they wage war against the Espers and reduce many of them to virtual slavery. Years later, just as men believe their victory is secure, an even deadlier threat emerges without warning: the Nephil. Humanoid monsters of unknown origin, these creatures cannot be reasoned with. They destroy, kill, and corrupt, forcing humanity to confront an enemy far beyond its internal conflicts. To defend Earth against Nephil invasions, men set aside some of their differences with the Espers and forge an uneasy, unequal alliance. Two military corps—the Corpus Machina and the Valkyr—are established to fight together, while a new unified world government, D.O.G.M.A., rises to power. As time passes, D.O.G.M.A. tightens its grip on the world, extending its authority over both military corps even as the frequency of “Nephil Events” increases year after year. You take the role of a young man whose tragic loss drives him to enlist in the Corpus Machina. Tasked with battling the Nephil and subduing the remaining rogue Espers, he soon discovers that the reality behind his mission is far more complicated than he expected.
