Description

In Nerve Fade, an ordinary life is upended by a devastating accident. At just eighteen, the protagonist sees his future thrown into uncertainty as even the simplest daily tasks become impossible to manage without help. Recovery means confronting not only his injuries, but also a sudden dependence on others. When everyone else has given up, his landlady, Mary, refuses to leave his side. Her continued support offers a source of stability, yet she knows something he does not. After speaking with his doctors, she learns the truth about damage to one of the most important nerves in his body—and chooses, for now, to keep it from him. With a potentially life-changing secret between them, his recovery becomes about more than medical treatment alone. Nerve Fade centers on vulnerability, trust, and the weight of information left unspoken, as his prospects for recovery rest not only with his doctors, but also with the woman who stayed.
