Description

In My Wife’s Most Beautiful Side, Akifusa shares a quiet life in a village with his beautiful wife, Shibano. Their love for each other runs deep, but years of hoping for a child have ended in disappointment because of Akifusa’s infertility. Though the life they have chosen together is happy, a lingering loneliness shadows their days—a sense that something precious is slowly withering away. Their peaceful household changes when they welcome Genta, an apprentice craftsman from another village, to live with them. Unassuming, honest, and well-mannered, he proves a considerate guest, even lending a hand with household chores on his days off. His presence brings fresh energy into the couple’s familiar routine, gently stirring a home long settled into quiet companionship. As the youthful, powerfully built Genta begins to regard Shibano with subtle admiration, Akifusa discovers an unexpected longing of his own. He wants to see his beloved wife desired by another man—and to witness the moment her composure gives way. Against a backdrop of enduring affection and unfulfilled hopes, the story explores the uneasy space between marital devotion and a desire Akifusa can no longer ignore.
