Luminary Protocol is an adult isekai visual novel that takes familiar genre conventions into a dark, increasingly desperate fight for survival. Torn from your own reality alongside others, you arrive in Lumis, a dangerous, magic-filled counterpart to Earth governed by mysterious gods and demons. Even the landscape is unstable: events called Convergences regularly pull fragments of other worlds into Lumis, merging them with its terrain and introducing new creatures, peoples, and technologies. These arrivals open up unusual places to explore beyond the core world, while the unfolding narrative features graphic violence, sex, nudity, mature themes, and substance use. The main storyline is linear, but your decisions shape how you experience it. Most are flavour choices that alter immediate interactions and your perspective on events, while occasional pivotal decisions have substantial, lasting consequences for the outcome. An alignment system also draws you toward Order, Chaos, or Balance, influencing some events and the way characters respond to you. Sexual encounters are intended to develop through believable circumstances rather than simply being handed to an inactive protagonist. The emphasis is on a substantial novel with frequent sexual content, not a sequence of adult scenes loosely connected by a plot. Following changes to UK law, Luminary Protocol is undergoing a complete rebuild, with v1.012 serving as its first public release. That version includes one detailed sex scene and extensive nudity. This is the solo developer’s first game, created through considerable trial and error after they began learning Ren’Py in January 2025 with no prior game-development or software-making experience. AI tools are used to create assets because the developer cannot afford to hire artists; those tools make it possible to give their writing the visuals needed to portray Lumis. At the six-month point after the game’s release, the developer’s stated goal was to continue publishing a chapter or update every one to two months. Updates had typically arrived every four to five weeks, each adding roughly an hour of content. Planned releases aim to include at least one complete adventure for a faction, comparable in scope to Chapter 2, alongside smaller downtime scenes with individual characters. For audio, lower the volume rather than using the Mute function in the sound settings: muting prevents animations with native sound from playing at all.
