Description

In Left Hand Magic, being a gifted Battlemage doesn’t guarantee a career. The post-industrial world of magitek and magic punk has moved on from the destructive arts that once stood at the heart of magical society. Monsters have either been wiped out or become civilized, while dungeons have long since been discovered, stripped of their treasures, and destroyed. Even warfare now relies on magitek machines and equipment crafted by artificers and enchanters, leaving traditional battle magic with little practical purpose. Your parents, friends, and university instructors all warned you that your chosen discipline was a dead end. But you were a prodigy with a genuine passion for unleashing the elements—setting things ablaze and striking enemies with lightning was exactly what you wanted to master. Ignoring their advice, you graduated from the continent’s most prestigious magical academy, only to discover that exceptional talent means very little when nobody needs what you can do. After drifting from one menial job to another, you receive an unexpected offer from Left Hand Solutions. The company brings together people facing much the same problem: finding constructive uses for their unusual magical specialties in the modern world. With Blood Magic, Necromancy, and Summoning among those specialties, you can’t help wondering whether your new colleagues are a little unhinged. Still, the pay is good, and the staff are friendly—and entirely female. Perhaps there’s a future for your talents after all.
