Description

In Leaving DNA, a long-unsolved murder threatens to unravel a respected prosecutor’s faith in the justice system. Assistant District Attorney Rockford has built a successful career on his idealism and commitment to the principles of American criminal justice. Yet professional recognition has never brought him what he wants most: a family. His mother died when he was very young, and he never knew his father, an elite military special forces soldier. Even his many romantic relationships have followed a painful pattern, leaving his partners frustrated by his reluctance to embrace intimacy. When a cryptic clue in a cold-case murder investigation points toward his father’s special forces unit, Rockford begins a search to uncover his father’s fate. The pursuit of answers puts more than his personal history under scrutiny. As he learns the truth, he must question his devotion to the rule of law and reconsider what family truly means to him. Along the way, Rockford grows closer to four beautiful women, each with a distinct connection to his life: a tenacious homicide detective who shares a romantic past with him; a brilliant fellow prosecutor who has been his friend since childhood; a steely former military combat instructor with her own views on justice; and a kindhearted schoolteacher whose past and future will become intertwined with his. Against the backdrop of a deeply personal investigation, these relationships stand to reshape the life of a man who has long struggled to let others in.
