Description

In Glass Half Broken, Polina leaves her impoverished background behind and moves to a corrupt industrial city in modern Russia. A freshman studying economics, she hopes an education will offer a route out of poverty and the chance to build a better future. Yet ambition alone may not be enough in a place where inequality and hypocrisy shape everyday life. As Polina tries to find her footing, temptation and unstable relationships complicate her pursuit of independence. Her choices draw her further into a world where getting by, getting ahead, and following her desires are rarely separate concerns. Against this uneasy backdrop, Glass Half Broken explores the tension between the future she wants and the pressures that threaten to define it.
