Description

Gay Phone unfolds entirely through a phone interface—not a device within a larger scene, but the screen through which you experience the whole game. Read your messages, work your shifts, order items and wait for deliveries, or open the camera app when you choose. Everyday interactions become the backdrop to a situation that grows increasingly difficult to manage. You’re broke, rent is due Friday, and your only income comes from an overnight support desk job routing tickets for people who are angry at four in the morning. Chase, who went to school with you, has decided that fifty a day is a reasonable arrangement—and makes it clear what happens if you miss a payment. When your landlord discovers you can’t cover the rent, he offers another way to settle what you owe. From there, Gay Phone follows your efforts to navigate mounting pressure and decide how far you’re willing to go. What begins as an urgent need to make ends meet becomes a question of personal boundaries—and the unsettling realization that those boundaries keep shifting on their own.
