Description

Free Friends 2 follows Shinozaki Sumire, whose life is upended when her mother dies unexpectedly, leaving her alone and without financial support. Desperate to earn money, she turns to a message board called Free Friends and meets her first client, Kaito, under the pseudonym “Sumi.” Neither initially recognizes the other, but their encounter sets the stage for a discovery that will force them to confront their shared past. Kaito is about to begin work as a student teacher at Minatohashi Higashi Academy. Unwilling and unable to build meaningful intimate relationships, he relies on compensated dating arranged through Free Friends. His emotional struggles are tied to memories of the sister he lost contact with after their parents divorced. Even the thought of violets—“sumire” in Japanese—brings those feelings rushing back, and a reminder of the academy’s celebrated violet flowerbeds sends him back to the message board before the school year begins. Days after meeting Sumi, he discovers that she attends the very academy where he teaches. Hearing her classmates call her Sumire prompts him to check the school roster, confirming that she is Shinozaki Sumire: the sister his mother took away during his childhood. The reunion he had long imagined has already happened, under circumstances neither anticipated. Also known as Furifure 2 and フリフレ2, this short visual novel was developed by Noesis and published in English by MangaGamer.
