Finding Color In The Ashes blends a fantasy dating sim with mostly cozy inn management, inviting you to restore a ruined inn while spending time with a witch named Lucy. Rebuilding is a gradual process, and you decide how to use your time as the property takes shape. Each day is split into morning, afternoon, evening, and night, with separate weekend events adding variety to your routine. Life at the inn also means keeping the surrounding area clear of monsters. Equip weapons, armor, and spells before heading into turn-based, dice-driven combat. A range of equipment and magic is available to buy, learn, and upgrade, giving you ways to develop your capabilities alongside your work on the inn. Progress comes from many parts of daily life: talking with Lucy and your guests, crafting potions, and fighting monsters all earn experience points. Spend that experience on abilities that improve your combat effectiveness, learn new spells, or make changes to the inn. Beginning in summer, the game unfolds over a full year, with seasons lasting about 90 days each and bringing their own associated gameplay.
