Civilisation begins with a universe full of nothing: vast stretches of emptiness, followed by yet more emptiness. Then a huge explosion—or something along those lines—shakes things up, making room for stars, planets, and everything else. It is a grand cosmic beginning, told with a decidedly less-than-serious attitude. Skip ahead to a tiny rock going through its own awkward growing phase, and the story reaches the important bit: the arrival of slightly confused, mostly naked beings who call it home. From these uncertain beginnings, civilisation starts to take shape… more or less. The journey from empty space to inhabited world sets the scene for a tongue-in-cheek look at a civilisation finding its feet. The visuals are part of that unfolding story. Every render is deliberately presented as it is for a reason tied to the plot, and its appearance will evolve alongside the characters. What you see at the beginning is therefore part of a changing presentation, rather than a fixed look for the entire game.
