Description

Summer break takes a nightmarish turn in Cichlidirus when the main character contracts a mysterious virus bearing the same name. Its unusual side effect changes his life completely: it transforms him into a girl, leaving him to face a familiar world under dramatically different circumstances. Despite this unexpected transformation, everyday responsibilities carry on. He must continue his studies, attend lectures, and spend time with classmates—all while pretending that nothing out of the ordinary has happened. The routine of student life becomes a challenge as he tries to act normally after a change that is anything but normal. Cichlidirus builds its premise around the contrast between an extraordinary personal upheaval and the ordinary demands of school and social life. What should have been a carefree summer instead gives way to the difficult task of keeping up appearances when everything about his situation has changed.
