Description

Set in mid-19th-century England, Blackberry Honey is a kinetic novel about maids, music, and an unlikely romance. After losing her position at the stately Hartwell home, Lorina Waugh must find work to support her large family in Liverpool. Unpleasant rumours surrounding her abrupt dismissal complicate her search, eventually leading her to Bly, a crumbling estate belonging to the Lennard family in the Shropshire countryside. Remote, gloomy, and drenched by almost relentless rain, her new workplace makes a miserable first impression—and life inside offers little comfort. Lorina endures fourteen-hour working days with scarcely any rest, bullying from the senior maids, and the added humiliation of being tormented by the Lennards’ twelve-year-old daughter, Lady Constance. Among the few servants willing to speak to her is Taohua, an enigmatic older maid whose attention Lorina would rather avoid. Despite her humble position, Taohua has a private bedroom, skips church with the other servants, and largely keeps to herself. Her aloof, feline manner, unusual complexion and eyes, and distinctive name have fuelled local whispers that she may be a witch. Lorina is determined to stay away, yet finds herself increasingly drawn to the mysterious woman. Developed by Ebi-hime and published by Denpasoft, Ebi-hime, and Sekai Project, Blackberry Honey features a maid heroine, yuri romance, sexual content, and a single-ending kinetic-novel format. This final, uncensored English-language release supports Windows, Linux, and macOS and comes pre-patched with the 18+ content.
