Description

A century after the Third World War, humanity has risen from the ashes to accomplish more than rebuilding civilization. In Bitter Gift Of Lucy, the world has been transformed into an apparent ideal: a society free from crime, suffering, and disease. The devastation of the past stands in stark contrast to the promise of life a hundred years later. For Steve, that promise is personal. Fresh out of school and preparing to enter college, he looks ahead with hope, eager for a new life, new friendships, and the opportunity to finally become someone. Against the backdrop of humanity’s extraordinary recovery, his story begins at a familiar turning point—the moment when education gives way to independence and the future feels full of possibility.
