Behind The Dune
Description
Behind The Dune draws on the world of Dune, the science-fiction novel written by Frank Herbert and adapted into the 1984 film directed by David Lynch. Its setting is a distant future shaped by a feudal interstellar order, where noble houses govern individual planets while pledging allegiance to the Padishah Emperor. Within this hierarchy, young Paul Atreides belongs to the noble family that accepts stewardship of Arrakis, a desert world of extraordinary importance. Arrakis is the universe’s only source of melange, better known as “spice”—its most valuable and significant substance. That monopoly makes control of the planet both a coveted prize and a dangerous responsibility. For House Atreides, taking charge of this harsh world means entering the center of a struggle between competing imperial powers. The story weaves together politics, religion, ecology, technology, and human emotion as those forces clash over Arrakis and its precious resource. Against the stark desert landscape, the fate of Paul’s family is bound to a conflict whose consequences reach far beyond a single planet.
