After The Worst turns a sweltering summer evening into a struggle to survive when a series of powerful explosions shakes the city. Is it war, a terrorist attack, or a meteor shower? Roman and his roommate Sofia have no clear answers. Although they barely spoke before the disaster, they must now rely on each other to make it through another day. Developed by solo creator Croqs, this adult 2D horror visual novel brings an uncertain catastrophe together with a relationship shaped by necessity and player decisions. Version 0.02 continues the main storyline with more scenes and dialogue involving Roman and Sofia, additional characters, and new story choices. A variable system tracks answers, actions, trust, and changes in character relationships, giving decisions an increasingly important role. Some consequences are already visible, while others are intended to emerge in future updates. The game’s early framework also includes a city map introduced with one accessible location, an inventory with a small amount of loot, random-number generation, and on-screen messages. Featuring male and female protagonists, After The Worst combines its horror premise with uncensored adult and erotic content. Almost all of its images are AI-generated using Comfy UI, Sora, and ChatGPT, with version 0.02 adding story illustrations and visual scenes alongside revised artwork, technical fixes, and a complete English translation of the new material. Croqs has described the project as free, with development posts publicly available for an initial period while the game builds an audience. After The Worst is available through Itch.io for Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android, with English and Ukrainian language support. Version 0.02 was released on July 29, 2026.
