Description

In A Wife At Stake, Laura is a beautiful, determined 26-year-old Italian woman who knows what she wants and is ready to work toward it. Together with her partner, Mario, she dreams of taking the next step in life: buying a house in her hometown and opening a store of her own. But in a relatively poor part of the country, finding the money to turn those ambitions into reality is no easy task. It is Mario who pushes Laura toward an adventure that introduces her to a world far removed from the one she knows. Here, money seems easier to come by—particularly for someone young and beautiful. For a woman with clear goals and limited means, that promise offers a tempting prospect. Yet beneath the appeal of easier money lies unfamiliar danger. Laura’s pursuit of a home and a business leads her into uncertain territory, where the possibility of getting what she wants comes with risks she has never faced before.
