Description

A Shot In The Dark is a choice-driven adult 3D visual novel where a fresh start at college gives way to romance, rivalry, and unsettling secrets. You play as a young man entering his first semester, hoping to leave the past behind and explore new possibilities. When a sorority girl disappears, however, the prospect of an ordinary college experience vanishes with her. Can you uncover what happened before it’s too late, or will your own past catch up with you? Your decisions shape the story from the opening chapter through to its conclusion, with consequences that can last long after a choice is made. There are no simple right or wrong answers and no single “happy path” to follow. Instead, numerous branching routes offer their own joys and tragedies, ultimately leading to multiple endings. The relationships you build and the choices you make determine how your semester unfolds. Ten main love interests bring a range of personalities, body types, and skin tones to the cast. Your choices guide the development of each relationship and determine whether you unlock explicit scenes. Additional romanceable characters are also planned for inclusion based on Patron polls and requests. While the story keeps its secrets, the gameplay makes the effects of your decisions clear: you will always know which aspects of the game a choice influences, making it easier to explore different routes on subsequent playthroughs. With no grinding or pointless minigames to pad out the experience, every mechanic is designed to keep the narrative moving forward.
