Description

Inner Empire is a text-based narrative role-playing game set in a fantastical world inspired by ancient civilizations. The age of bronze is fading, and the age of iron is taking its place. As new forces rise to cast aside the old, one thing remains unchanged: the blood spilled along the way. At the heart of this changing world is an ordinary girl of flesh and blood—not a chosen one, a savior, or someone marked for greatness. Her perspective brings the sweeping upheaval down to a personal level. Whatever the future holds for the world around her, her immediate concern is the difficult situation she finds herself in. Through its text-driven storytelling, Inner Empire frames an era of transformation through a protagonist with little patience for grand historical questions. The contrast between a world on the brink of something new and one girl’s pressing troubles gives the premise its grounded, irreverent edge.
