Description

On a muggy day in the rainy season, an unexpected visitor arrives at the protagonist’s apartment in Tokyo: Sayaka, his childhood friend whom he hasn’t seen since elementary school. Now a high school student living on his own after moving to the city, he suddenly finds himself sharing his space with a familiar face—and her relentlessly cheeky attitude. Sayaka’s parents are leaving for three days to attend a memorial service, and his own parents have already volunteered him as her host. Their well-meaning offer—“We’ll have her stay with our son”—sets the stage for an unusual reunion, giving the two childhood friends three days together under one roof. In Cheeky! 3 Days With My Childhood Friend, catching up comes with a steady stream of barbs. Sayaka has no hesitation about calling her host an “idiot face” or a “spineless loser,” making this sudden living arrangement anything but a quiet visit. Rainy-season humidity, years spent apart, and a sharp-tongued houseguest form the backdrop to their unexpected three-day stay.
