Description

Utawarerumono: Mask Of Truth picks up immediately after the ending of Itsuwari no Kamen / Mask of Deception, as Oshtor’s final wishes leave Haku responsible for both the princess and Oshtor’s younger sister, Nekone. Determined to honor his promise and protect his friends, Haku abandons his own name and puts on his fallen companion’s mask. From this moment forward, he must live as Oshtor, relying on his wits and the weight of his friend’s reputation to confront a struggle more perilous than any he has faced before. At his side, Nekone resolves to support Haku through whatever lies ahead, concealing her grief over her beloved brother’s death. Their companions, meanwhile, mourn two painful absences: Haku, whom they believe to be dead, and Kuon, who has departed for her homeland. Bound by promises and burdened by loss, those who remain must find a way forward as another conflict draws near. The story returns to a land on the brink of war, where Haku’s borrowed identity carries both authority and profound responsibility. As the flames of battle threaten to engulf Ennakamuy and spread across all of Yamato, the commitments made in Oshtor’s final moments shape the struggle to come.
