Tool RPGM SLR/DSLR/SEP is a translation toolkit by Shisaye for RPG Maker VX, VX Ace, MV, and MZ games, with additional support for picture-based text. Developed over several years with high-quality RPGM translation in mind, SLR Translator also offers add-ons for Unity and Unreal Engine games. Version 3.079 includes the SLR and DSLR translation engines alongside the standalone SEP picture translation system, with both standard and Linux packages available. The tool can run on a fairly old laptop, provided it meets the requirements and does not overheat. Each translation option serves a different workflow. SLR requires a local SugoiV4 server running on the default port, 14366; Sugoi Toolkits V9 through V9.4 are incompatible, while V9.5 restores compatibility. DSLR works without SugoiV4 and supports your choice of AI language model as long as its API accepts “v1” or “v4” requests. Described by the developer as delivering substantially better translations, DSLR requires either a configured local LLM or an external provider and comes preconfigured for a free LM Studio setup using Qwen. SEP operates independently, allowing you to translate horizontal text in images offline and in bulk. Press F1 while the tool is open to access tutorials, and consult the manual for setup instructions. The toolkit requires at least 8 GB of system RAM. Free local use of DSLR needs a CUDA- or Vulkan-capable GPU with at least 6 GB of VRAM, increasing to 8 GB for the DSLR Glossary system. Optional b11429 DSLR Runtime Server downloads include CUDA packages for NVIDIA GPUs on Windows and Linux, plus ROCm compatibility patches for AMD GPUs. The Windows 11 patch requires HIP SDK 7 or newer, while the Windows 10 patch requires HIP SDK 6.4.2. The Linux ROCm patch supports only Debian 13 or newer, or Arch, and requires ROCm 7 or newer. An example model package pairs Qwen3.5-4B-Paperwitch with Qwen3.5-4B-DFlash in Q8_0 format and includes a drafts.json file for the DSLR Runtime Server; the models are also available through Hugging Face for faster downloading. Optional supplementary utilities include extractors, editors, and a minimalist Sugoi Repack. These third-party extras were not created by Shisaye and are no longer required to use the toolkit.
