Description

In The Shackles Of Affection, the City of Wind promises the freedom to become whoever you want and live on your own terms. Opportunities abound, whether you want to develop your talents or pursue your ambitions—but that freedom comes at a price. With enough money, the city opens its doors. Without it, possibility alone won’t get you far. Jack lives in this city of opportunity, though his profession is far removed from its inviting promises. A former soldier turned mercenary—or, more plainly, a killer—he works for Freedom for People, an organization owned by his brother, Gregor. Jack is the best mercenary in his brother’s firm, but his ability on the job comes with a difficult, fiercely headstrong personality. Heavy drinking and an explosive temper make Jack as troublesome as he is capable. Almost nobody has seen him sober, and his short fuse only adds to the problems he faces. How will he handle the challenges ahead, and where will his own reckless behavior lead him?
