Description

The Nights Of Suburra follows Messalina, the Empress of Roma, as she leaves aristocratic company behind to explore Suburra, the city’s grimy, impoverished suburb. Already sexually adventurous, she has grown thoroughly bored with her encounters among the nobility. When her maid suggests visiting the slums in search of something different, Messalina decides to take her advice. Among Suburra’s plebeians and homeless residents, the empress pursues new partners without regard for wealth or social standing—and discovers that she enjoys the change. Built around the contrast between imperial privilege and life in Roma’s poorest streets, The Nights Of Suburra centers on Messalina’s search for excitement far beyond her usual noble circles.
