Description

Enclosed by mountains and almost entirely isolated from other nations, Kamui has long enjoyed a peaceful, prosperous existence under the protection of its guardian deity, Hiiragi no Kotama. In return for the people’s faith, the deity watches over their secluded homeland. The Imperial Guard, an organization serving Hiiragi no Kotama directly, oversees the regional lords, addresses wrongdoing, and maintains order throughout the country. That stability begins to erode when a foreign religion known as the Light of Salvation takes root in Kamui’s remote regions. Its followers bring unfamiliar clothing and customs, steadily winning converts before the extent of their influence becomes clear. Suspicious of the movement’s activities, Hiiragi no Kotama orders an investigation and dispatches Imperial Guard member Himeki Kyōka alongside Amagumi Rei, a righteous outlaw captured under unusual circumstances. What begins as an inquiry into a spreading religion becomes a mission that will determine the fate of Kamui itself. As Kyōka and Rei travel together, both women must confront their own pasts while facing the changes unsettling their homeland. Soka Language: Cultural Invasion, Religion, Brainwashing places their personal struggles against a backdrop of threatened faith and foreign influence, asking whether strength of character, physical power, or something else entirely will allow them to overcome themselves.
