Description

Silent Pill begins with a discovery of historic significance: an unknown fossil unearthed in Shizuoka. At the government’s request, the Shizuoka Institute of Science launches a preliminary field survey to investigate the find. Among its researchers is Sally Mason-Kishimoto, who remains committed to unraveling the fossil’s mysteries despite her frustration over being childless and the persistent sexual harassment she faces from her superiors. The investigation is overtaken by catastrophe when hordes of unidentified life forms suddenly attack the city. Trapped in her hotel room, Sally witnesses the horror unfolding outside: men are killed, while women suffer sexual violence and are forced to give birth to the creatures’ offspring. What began as a scientific inquiry becomes a desperate struggle to survive. Three days pass with no sign of rescue, and Sally’s food supplies begin to run low. With staying in her room no longer a viable option, she resolves to escape. Against the backdrop of a city overrun by unknown creatures, Silent Pill follows a researcher forced to abandon her search for answers and confront the immediate challenge of staying alive.
