Operation Rio: Blood Trails

Description

Operation Rio: Blood Trails takes place in a Brazil transformed by the rise of the Red Empire. Fueled by profits from a newly circulating drug, the criminal organization seized control of the country, extending its reach into politics, the media, the police, and numerous other sectors. Nearly 90% of rival factions were wiped out or absorbed into its ranks. Years later, the assassination of its leader—the elusive figure known only as The King—shatters that dominance. Old factions resurface and new contenders emerge, turning Rio de Janeiro into a battlefield as they compete for the wealth, influence, and power he left behind. A direct sequel to Life in Rio, Operation Rio: Blood Trails features Elza as its sole protagonist. Set in a distant future, her story follows her decision to walk in her father’s footsteps and become an investigative police officer. Determined and relentless, she is pulled into a case whose scope reaches far beyond anything she anticipated. At its center is Alice, her childhood best friend, who took the opposite path and became one of the country’s most wanted drug traffickers. After years in hiding, Alice unexpectedly surrenders, offering invaluable information on one surprising condition. Forced to work with someone who embodies everything she has sworn to fight, Elza must navigate an underworld shaped by corruption, violence, and competing ambitions to discover who truly killed The King. With fragile alliances and inevitable betrayals defining Rio’s struggle for power, appearances offer little certainty. Every choice carries consequences—and could help determine the future of the city itself.
