Description

Nozokibeya (Look Down Room) follows a divorced father whose devotion to his daughter gives meaning to his exhausting daily routine. He works late every night without praise from his boss, yet the meals she prepares and the bright smile that greets him each morning make his efforts worthwhile. His marriage ended fifteen or twenty years ago, but life with his cherished daughter has kept loneliness at bay. To him, she is everything. That happiness begins to unravel after an evening of drinking following work leads him to Nozokibeya, a brothel. There, he sees a young woman who looks shockingly like his daughter. Unable to accept the resemblance, he clings to denial as the life he treasured threatens to collapse. This Japanese kinetic visual novel centers on a male protagonist and a devastating family revelation, exploring voyeurism, betrayal, and taboo family relationships through a text-based presentation with 2D CG artwork. Developed by YOUKAITAMANOKOSHI and released on May 1, 2015, Nozokibeya is available for Windows through DLsite.
