Description

My Happy Family is a visual novel–style story game about a protagonist who returns from a month-long vacation to discover that life at home has changed without him. His mother has found her first “real” boyfriend since separating from his father, and the new man has already moved in. The house may look familiar, but the relationships within it feel unexpectedly different. Before he left, his younger sister depended on him for nearly everything. Now she rarely turns to him, instead hanging on the boyfriend’s every affectionate word. To the protagonist, it seems this newcomer has filled the place their absent father left in her heart. His twin sister has changed as well: once openly hostile toward him and everyone around her, particularly men, she now keeps her temper in check and obediently listens to their mother’s boyfriend. She seems just as captivated as their younger sister, though his influence over her feels distinctly more authoritative. As the protagonist tries to understand what happened during his brief absence, he faces an unsettling question: should he look into the changes reshaping his family, or accept that they might be for the better? His mother appears comfortable with the new arrangement—but whether that should be enough to reassure him is another matter.
