Description

In Miia’s Room, an unremarkable middle-aged man loses his apartment after failing to pay the rent, leaving him with nowhere to turn but his older brother. Unfortunately, his brother and sister-in-law are about to depart on a 30-day overseas business trip. They agree to let him stay in their home on one condition: he must look after their only daughter, Miia, while they are away. What follows is a month under the same roof as his cheerful, free-spirited gyaru niece. With debts still hanging over him and Miia’s hopes of entering her dream university in the balance, his temporary refuge comes with responsibilities of its own. Set against this unexpected living arrangement, Miia’s Room centers on 30 days of shared daily life as the protagonist tries to get back on his feet and support his niece’s future.
