In Koukaku No Ai : Senzai Ishiki E No Mesubuta Kokuin, feared police investigator Fujisaki Ai faces a criminal organization whose influence reaches far beyond its victims’ disappearances. Known as “Steel Shell Ai,” she possesses nanotechnology enhancements that allow her to transform her limbs into formidable metal weapons. For years, she has pursued the enigmatic group Sacrifice, which abducts women, often targeting actresses, celebrities, and prominent sportswomen. Some of the missing women eventually return, but their memories of captivity are so hazy that their cases are dismissed as inconsequential and gradually forgotten. Later, without exception, their names appear among the prostitutes working in brothels run by criminal organizations. As Ai investigates the connection, suspicion falls on a high-ranking Sacrifice member known only as “Trainer X.” At the heart of the conflict is a sinister effort to break the formidable investigator through conditioning and reshape her subconscious into one of submission. Ai is joined in her fight by squad leader Miyamura Yukari, while her mother, the talented Ministry of Interior member Sawamoto Miwako, supports her from the shadows. Yukari’s niece, the famous idol Kitano Mai, also becomes part of the story, having once been abducted by Sacrifice herself. With everything at stake, the confrontation between Steel Shell Ai and the organization becomes a life-or-death struggle against criminals who seek control over both their victims’ lives and their minds.
