Description

Heart Of The Woods is a fantasy yuri visual novel weaving paranormal investigation, ancient secrets, and a romance between two girls that reaches beyond life and death. After years of managing her best friend Tara’s popular paranormal vlog, editing its videos, and keeping its business affairs—and its chaotic host—under control, Maddie Raines is ready to pursue a life of her own. She agrees to one final journey to the remote, mysterious village of Eysenfeld, where a strange young woman named Morgan claims to have undeniable evidence of the supernatural. What awaits them surpasses anything they have previously encountered, drawing them into a dangerous crisis that will forever alter Maddie and Tara’s lives. Among Eysenfeld’s unsettling phenomena, Maddie finds herself captivated by Abigail, the ghost of a young woman condemned by a centuries-old injustice to remain bound to the surrounding forest. Kindhearted and playful despite two hundred years of crushing solitude, Abigail longs for the life she was denied and, above all, someone to talk to. An inexplicable attraction to Maddie prompts her to reveal herself to another person for the first time in more than 200 years. As their connection deepens into a love unlike anything Maddie has known, the truth behind Abigail’s death and imprisonment begins to emerge. While Tara and Morgan explore the village’s mysteries, Maddie must confront both events beyond her understanding and her own self-doubt. Together, the friends must break the curse that has held Eysenfeld for centuries—and give the woman Maddie loves a chance at freedom. The story brings together four distinct personalities. Professional, meticulous, and intellectually minded, Maddie is usually the dependable problem-solver, juggling management, editing, and the near-constant task of looking after Tara. Tara, meanwhile, considers herself one of the world’s most popular paranormal vloggers: charismatic, tireless, brash, and fearless, she pursues new experiences with an enthusiasm that frequently turns into trouble through relentless flirting, minor criminal activities, or sheer stubbornness. Morgan is a devoted Taranormal viewer, the mayor’s daughter, and the proprietor of a small, largely empty antique shop. Her habit of vanishing into the woods for days and her refusal to conform to social expectations have earned her a notorious local reputation. Yet her defiance has a purpose: she knows something sinister lies at Eysenfeld’s heart, and she intends to uproot it. With approximately 130,000 words and multiple endings, Heart Of The Woods pairs its supernatural love story with character illustrations and CG artwork by Rosuuri, fully original backgrounds and a soundtrack, and an ending theme by In Love With A Ghost. Multiple accessibility options accompany extras such as a music room, CG viewer, and guest art gallery, alongside Steam trading cards. And, naturally, this woodland mystery features at least one very, very gay ghost.
