Description

At 127 years old, Finster is a high elf matriarch with a level 99 reputation and eighty years of unbroken victories behind her. Fighting has become as effortless as closing a door—and just as dull. A trip to a small town to deal with a few supposed “level ten orcs” promises little more than another forgettable assignment. But the old quarry she enters is nothing like the routine job she expected. An anomaly steadily drinks away her power, leaving the once-unstoppable matriarch with only a fraction of her strength. Now she must fight her way back down, burdened by a frost blade she can barely lift and facing a struggle her long undefeated streak has done little to prepare her for. Finster turns overwhelming strength into a precarious fight as its formidable heroine is stripped of the power she has taken for granted. And through it all, a voice speaking flawless Elvish seems to be enjoying her predicament.
