Description

Dangerous Village Tradition – 鬼鎮村の危険な因襲 – is a visual novel about a married couple whose move to the countryside draws them into a troubling local custom. Known as “Onibarai,” or Demon Purification, the ritual becomes a means for the villagers to manipulate the newcomers. As the couple’s lives become entangled with the tradition, they eventually find themselves unable to escape the stimulation it offers. Their refusal to take part in Onibarai brings relentless harassment. The fields they have carefully tended are vandalized day after day, and even their home’s windows are smashed. Yet Ayako remains determined to stay, holding fast to her desire to live among people who coexist with nature—even if that resolve ultimately means betraying Yuto. Originally released in 2016 as a bishōjo game under the Black Currant brand, Dangerous Village Tradition has been reworked for the PandaShojo platform for players around the world. Its countryside setting frames a story of village coercion, marital strain, and the unsettling hold of a tradition that turns the couple’s hopes for a new life against them.
