Description

After his father’s death, Taro was raised by his mother, Kyoko, a gentle woman whose determination to stand up against sexual harassment cost her her job. Hoping for a fresh start, she accepts work as a housecleaner for Zenichi, the mayor’s son in another town. The opportunity seems too valuable to pass up, so she relocates with Taro, whom Zenichi allows to stay in the house while she works there. But the arrangement soon leaves Kyoko in a vulnerable position. In Cucktown: These People Are Doing My Mom, her new employer’s unwanted advances put her hard-won stability at risk, blurring the line between his apparent generosity and his leverage over her. With both her livelihood and their living arrangement tied to Zenichi, Kyoko faces a painful question: can she afford to refuse him?
