Description

Blood Root takes place in a world shaped by war between mages and ordinary humans. Although the conflict ended with humans gaining access to magic, they still lacked an army strong enough to defeat the mages. Peace finally became possible when half-blooded witches brought down the mages’ lord, giving the world a chance to begin anew. Yet the aftermath of the conflict left dangers behind. Crazed magic continued to warp ordinary humans, and the half-blooded witches of the church used their own spells and miracles to dispel its influence. The heroine is one of these witches, carrying out her duties in a world where magic is both a source of power and a lingering threat. Her journey takes a new direction when Yuris, an old friend from the church, shares information about a certain underground city. Acting on this lead, she sets out to explore it, taking Blood Root’s story beneath the surface of a world still recovering from its turbulent past.
