Description

In The Call Of Darkness, humanity has reached the stars without leaving its old habits behind. Across a dozen settled worlds, war and profit still dictate the course of civilization, even as a recent cycle of conflict gives way to renewed unity and peace. Seemingly alone in the vastness of space, mankind has found little reason to change—but survival may soon demand an embrace of the very shadows it fears. You play a veteran who has served his planet and now wants to move on: just a man, his dog, and a fresh start as captain of a starship with an eclectic, strangely sensual crew. Yet an ancient force beyond human reality and understanding appears to have chosen a far greater destiny for you. As the herald of a less-than-merciful Elder God, you must prepare humanity for the tides of change approaching from the “Other” sides. Chaos, madness, and ravenous Lovecraftian horrors threaten to consume and destroy, with everyone and everything standing to lose far more if you fail or fall. But serving the greater good becomes a troubling proposition when compassion is treated as weakness. Can you trust that your actions are right—and allow yourself to enjoy the rewards and pleasures that accompany them? The darkness is calling, and it does not arrive empty-handed.
