Description

In Hiiragi’s Practice Diary, Yoshiyuki Hīragi is an unremarkable student who belongs to his school’s swimming club. His love life is no more impressive than his academic standing: unlucky in romance, he has yet to find a girlfriend. That changes his outlook when an unexpected offer gives him a chance to prepare for a relationship. The offer comes from Yui Kōsaka, the swimming club captain, student council president, and school heartthrob. Yui suggests that they “practice” together so Yoshiyuki will know what to do when he eventually gets a girlfriend. This arrangement forms the premise of a visual novel about a romantically inexperienced student and the attention he receives from one of the school’s most admired figures. Originally released as a freeware visual novel built with LiveMaker, Hiiragi’s Practice Diary was later ported to Ren’Py to make translation possible. The port uses the script and assets extracted from the original release. Because LiveMaker was designed specifically for Japanese-language games and is notoriously difficult to patch, moving the game to Ren’Py provided a more practical route for translating it.
