Dusk Or Sensei follows a man who survives war only to return emotionally hollow to a nation where men have disappeared. Taking a position as his school’s only male teacher, he expects to teach—but finds himself surrounded by people whose loneliness and grief run far deeper than he anticipated. In quiet streets and classrooms, his presence becomes a source of hope, drawing him into the lives of those still struggling with what the war left behind. As others turn to him for comfort, rescue, or simply a place to let their pain surface, the boundaries of his role grow increasingly complicated. Each connection brings another burden, and reaching out does not guarantee that either person will escape unharmed. Set against a dystopian backdrop, the story explores trauma, dependence, and the uncertain line between helping someone heal and being pulled under alongside them. At its heart lies a question neither side can easily answer: who is really saving whom?
