Description

What kind of person will you become when the rules no longer apply? Violation Nation takes place in the not-so-distant future, when the World Council—a governing body made up of Earth’s wealthiest countries and conglomerates—controls the planet. Among its many controversial policies is the fiercely disputed “Hwalchag Act,” which mandates that two citizens from every country be randomly selected each year and sent to an infamous island known as Violation Nation. For anywhere from a few weeks to several months, these unwilling participants are left in a place with no rules, free to do whatever they want. Once the experiment ends, anyone still alive is returned to civilization. A total of US$10 billion is divided among the survivors as compensation for their participation and suffering, and every survivor receives a pardon that shields them from any consequences for their actions on the island. With both an enormous reward and complete immunity waiting at the end, survival becomes a test of more than endurance. How will you treat the other people forced into this lawless experiment? What will your actions reveal about the human being you really are? Above all, will you make it out of Violation Nation alive?
