Description

The Blue Moon Is Dyed By The Abyss is a pixel-animated game centered on childhood friends Kosuke and Aoi, a member of the disciplinary committee. After years of knowing each other, Kosuke finally gathers the courage to invite Aoi on a trip. She accepts, and their time away seems poised to bring them closer to becoming a couple. Their promising getaway takes an unsettling turn at the inn where they are staying. Circumstances make Aoi the target of other men, drawing the story into themes of infidelity and a threatened relationship. With Kosuke’s hopes hanging in the balance, the game leaves one central question: what will ultimately become of Aoi? Large-scale pixel animations are a defining feature of the presentation. A choice-based system lets players revisit animated scenes, while an optional cross-section view can be toggled on or off.
