Back To Freedom follows a former elite soldier whose mistake on a mission cost several allies their lives and earned him a ten-year prison sentence. Finally released, he hopes to rebuild his life in peace—but escaping his past may prove harder than serving his time. What begins as a look at his everyday routine gradually develops into a more intricate story, revealing the personal struggles of the people around him. Most decisions influence the narrative, leaving you to choose between a righteous path and the corruption and violence that might secure his long-awaited freedom. This branching visual novel combines choice-driven storytelling with stats, money, stores, cars, minigames, achievements, and a replay gallery. Its systems offer more interaction than a traditional visual novel without requiring grinding, and some mechanics emerge only as the story progresses. Although the main story is not a sandbox, completing the currently available storyline unlocks a separate sandbox mode where you can revisit past events and discover exclusive characters and content. Your choices and accumulated stats also determine which scenes become available. The male protagonist is physically fit, powerful, skilled in both hand-to-hand and ranged combat, and sexually experienced. Relationships with the main cast begin as part of the story and cannot be declined outright; afterward, you can avoid individual characters until further story progression develops those relationships. Optional side characters can be rejected or ignored, and some may never appear depending on your decisions. The game features extensive uncensored adult content, including real pornography, with scenes gated by stats and earlier choices, alongside themes of domination, voyeurism, exhibitionism, cheating, pregnancy, incest, and lesbian encounters.
