Description

In Red Masked Ronin: Desires And Shadows, an honorable samurai leads a secret life beneath the authority of the Shogun. By day, he serves his lord; by night, he takes up a brush to capture forbidden desires in art. Those two worlds collide when a shunga artwork depicting the Shogun’s sister escapes the palace walls, igniting a scandal that destroys his standing. Stripped of his rank and cast out of the Shogun’s service, the disgraced warrior becomes a ronin. Yet losing his place is not the end of his punishment. While the Shogun remains silent, Kuroda Nobumasa, the powerful daimyo of the Ashina region, refuses to let the disgrace go unanswered. Swearing vengeance in the name of honor, Nobumasa sends shinobi assassins after the former samurai. What began as a hidden artistic pursuit has made him a hunted man, caught between the consequences of forbidden expression and a powerful lord’s determination to exact revenge.
